About Adalia/HollowHeartlessIzsak

I am a professional artist, dedicated for life. I absolutely adore animals and enjoy reading, writing, music, games, and movies (anime and manga included of course~). I'm married to a lovely man who supports me in my career, and I'm 24. I came from a family of 5, so I have two younger siblings: 1 brother and 1 sister.
:iconsnowowl24: is my sister.

The Beginning

I started out drawing when I was a little girl. Probably as soon as I was able to hold some sort of drawing utensil in my hand. I was that kid that scribbled on any paper I could and probably on some walls while I was at it. I'm sure if you look through some of my childhood books, you'll see some artistic additions I made.

Being half Japanese on my mother's side, I was exposed to the world of anime at an early age. Particularly Sailor Moon and Studio Ghibli films to be exact. I started to trace the characters of Sailor Moon and branched out into Pokemon, Digimon, and Yu-gi-oh. Throw in DNAngel, Naruto, and Bleach later on, then a million other anime/manga from there.

I think the first time I felt that I really wanted to do art for the rest of my life was probably early in elementary school. At that point, I didn't know that you actually could do art for a profession, so being Pet Doctor/Vet was my other ambition. Of course, after I learned of how much science would be involved, I quit that. I'm not much for Math or Science. The world to me was a place to accept the way things were and figure things out through utilizing my creative skills. It wasn't till I was in high school that I started working on my art skills more seriously. The doors of Deviant Art were shown to me by a good friend and we started posting things up out of the silliness we enjoyed. Sure, I had made a point to take art classes throughout my schooling life, but high school was when you were able to choose a little more of what sort of medium you wanted to try. Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Creative Writing, Theater/Acting..etc.

When Silly Went Serious

As a member on Deviant Art, I was exposed to many different types of artists and their various skills. I wanted to be able to become recognized through my art. I started posting art more regularly and drawing every chance I got. Let's just say my school assignments had doodles all over them. My family supported me in any art endeavor I followed, art shows, art clubs, art classes, art anything. It was also nice having art teachers who were really passionate about what they did. The most important thing that stuck to me was their desire to learn new things, new techniques, and new mediums.

For awhile I went into Culinary Arts, graduating with an AAS degree, which distracted me from doing art more consistently but it was a good experience. I definitely discovered my love for food and business which, in turn, helped me further my art career. I don't think I would have had as much confidence in being a freelance artist if I hadn't gotten my degree. It exposed me to so many new things, new people, and a new way of thinking.

What really helped me become a full time artist, was encouragement from my husband and my good friend :iconashe-marbury:. I saw her artwork and immediately fell in love with her characters and her refined skills! After learning that she was a full time artist, I realized it was a possible and real thing. Surrounding myself with artists as friends and constantly working on learning new techniques is what I live for and love!

My motto: "Art is a way of life, not a thing to do." "Create a more beautiful world, even if it's only for one person."

The Start Of Something Glorious

And now it begins. I'm finally doing something that I've been looking at for a few years now and I'm nervous and excited. It's only recently (a year) that I've been completely serious about opening up a Patreon page. I'm quite blessed to know that my friend, Ashe-Marbury was willing to do this with me! I think this shall be a start of something quite beautiful since we've been encouraging each other creatively for so many years now. It's finally happening and I truly hope that with our combined determination, we'll be able to make our dreams come true.
