February Overview

I don't think many people know this about me, but I'm such a romantic and it's hard to resist drawing couples. However...it seems I managed to not even draw a couple for the Valentine's month at all! I'm quite surprised!

Anyhow, seems I'm getting my anxiety under control. I still have days where I'm feeling more stressed than I normally do, but with a change of mindset, breathing exercises, and being more on top of exercising, I'm starting to feel better. I keep thinking that I'll probably get worse around the holidays again, but we'll see. As for now, I just have to focus on staying in the present and take things one at a time. 

I wanted to talk about some progress I've made as an individual this month...it might not seem much, but it was monumental for me. My mom was in in charge of a funeral with several other amazing ladies through church and I just so happened to visit my family during this sad occasion. I was actually there to celebrate my dad and my close friend's birthday so it was an extremely busy week! So, to get to the part of what I'm proud of, the funeral was on a Wednesday, I arrived on Sunday night, a few days before the funeral and I was asked to sing a song I didn't know (I was asked as backup just in case the ladies they asked couldn't do it), and I ended up getting up in front of lots of people while they were mourning their loss with one of the ladies who was supposed to sing...and we sang rather nicely. 

Never in my life had I been so calm about such a thing. Normally I would be freaking out from the very moment I said yes to singing to the end of performing. I guess the sense of duty to help out was very strong, but throughout the entire process of those few days before, there were so many things up in the air which is normally something I panic about greatly because then I can't prepare properly! Either way, I'm quite proud of myself for being so flexible and having a calm mindset for all of it. It was only until I had to practice with the other person when my nerves made me quake like crazy! I even ended up crying afterwards because I looked up at everyone in the crowd and the empathy levels were high. Note to anyone singing at a funeral, don't look into the crowd when you sing!

So yeah, that's all that was really notable this month. March will probably be uneventful aside from doing lots of artwork to try and get ahead of deadlines so that I can work on more complicated pieces. Perhaps do some more comic works for once!
